In this course you will learn the basics of data visualization such as what is the point of data visualization (Viz) , what tools are used for data Viz and what makes them different. You will learn to create charts in Excel and Tableau. You will also learn to connect to different data sources. 

Topics covered:

1- Connect Excel to Oracle, Excel to other sources

2- Connect Tableau to Excel and Tableau to Oracle and Tableau to Others

3- You will learn to build your first chart in Tableau/Excel, learn about filters, optimal types of visualizations 

4- Learn what charts are best for different business use cases

5- Learn to tell a story like an analyst and wow your audience

Course Setup

1. The first class of the course will consist of setting up your own sandbox environment or workbench on your machine and making sure you have a compatible system. A complete set of instructions will be emailed to you in advance and support will be provided if you have questions before and during the course. The course is designed to work on Mac or Windows, and will work on most machines that are 1-3 years old.  

2. After your machine is ready, we will begin the introduction to databases and the real training with examples will begin. We will use the remaining courses from your purchased package to explore many examples and apply the knowledge to real world problems.
